Dear friends, acquaintances, colleagues, contemporaries, and readers,
Having completed my grad studies at the University of Heidelberg here in Germany, I feel like I now finally have the time to keep a blog both on my ex-pat life in Europe and on my vice of traveling.
I had been wanting to create a blog for a while, mostly as creative outlet but also to help me process, retain, and share happenings, thoughts, and experiences with whomever cares to read them.
I am originally from California, grew up in Mexico, and went back to the States after finishing high school. I’ve been living out here in Germany for the last 6 years, where I obtained my B.A. in History and Slavic Philology (Polish and Russian), and my M.A. in Eastern European History from the University of Heidelberg, the country’s oldest. It is also through my particular personal background that I hope this blog will stand out from the rest.
I am particularly interested in Central and Eastern Europe. My preferred mode of traveling is hitchhiking. I choose my destinations more out of historical interest than anything else. I’m a Bohemian traveler with an academic background in history and a penchant for the unconventional.
My further interests include literature, football, Death Metal, subcultures, and risky adventures.
Glad to have you here,
